The Sateré Mauwé September 14 -28, 2012 Opening Reception - Friday, September 14 6:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. Warehouse Gallery One hours during the exhibition: M-F, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Gary Will, faculty member in the Bradley University Art Department, was an artist in Residence at Prairie Center during his spring 2012 sabbatical.  During that time he worked on making prints and he took an amazing trip with the Riverside Community Church mission team to the Brazilian Amazon. Gary documented the trip with a "point and shot" camera and from that produced a wonderfully delightful picture book of the amazing people that inhabit the region. What: Aerial Performance Who: Erin Garber-Pearson Date: Friday, June 22, 2012 Time:  8:00 PM Where:  Prairie Center of the Arts 1506 SW Washington St Peoria, IL  61602 K-3 studios Erin Garber-Pearson is a multi-media artist and circus performer.   Friday is Erin’s last day as a resident artist at the Prairie Center.    S he will give a performance of her aerial acrobatics in the stunning warehouse atmosphere of Prairie Center of the Arts.   Aerial silks is an acrobatic circus art form consisting of a long piece of fabric hung from a high rig point, and a performer who climbs the fabric, tying their body into knots which can be unrolled or dropped away for dramatic falls.   In July she will perform at many events in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area including the Milwaukee Art Museum on July 22 nd in celebration of their exhibit Posters of Paris: Toulouse-Lautrec and His Contemporaries. CIAO & Friends Invitational Art Show at the Peoria Riverfront Museum The Peoria Riverfront Museum (PRM) will be having their grand opening in October. CIAO has the opportunity to curate an exhibit in the museum during the first five months of opening activities.  With thousands of visitors planning to tour the museum, this presents a great opportunity for CIAO .  This is a call for entries to the CIAO & Friends Invitational exhibit to be held at The Peoria Riverfront Museum from October 2012 to March 2013 featuring Central Illinois artists. More artists arriving in the next few days... FYI...we have many more international artists that will be visiting in the next months...that should make for great conversation and exchange of ideas...more to come!
